About

Baycourt Community and Arts Centre

Located in the heart of downtown Tauranga, Baycourt is the Bay of Plenty’s premier performing arts facility. Baycourt is a treasured cornerstone of our city’s heritage – a place where people of all ages can be entertained, inspired and escape into the wonders of performing arts. There are three objectives particularly close to our hearts at Baycourt: celebrating the arts in all its forms; nurturing present, past and future generations of artists and performers; and presenting our patrons with the very best shows on offer in a venue of which we can all be proud.

Our multi-purpose performing arts and events complex provides a variety of spaces for our local community, as well as visiting national and international acts. We can host groups and events of all sizes, from small gatherings to major professional productions.

The heart of our operation is the Baycourt Addison Theatre, which is steeped in history. Over three decades, countless performers have graced its stage, infusing the floorboards with their own passion and love for performance. From primary school students to octogenarians and international acts; performing on our stage is an experience that remains with you for life.

With a 500+ seating capacity, an extendable stage, bespoke orchestra pit and world-class fly tower, our audiences are treated to sophisticated experiences that deliver top-quality acoustic and visual delights.

But visiting crews, school groups and local organisations know that our theatre is just the beginning of what we offer. Our venue boasts everything from a black box theatre that can be transformed to suit any performance or exhibition, to a well-appointed backstage, to professional and affordable conference facilities. We also offer a full catering service and have a licensed bar on-site.

So whether you are part of the fine arts fraternity, a member of the youth arts movement, interested in music, comedy or a proud parent watching a child perform, it is our promise that the memories you create with us at Baycourt will endure, enrich your life and forever offer a bit of magic.

Baycourt. Where the arts come alive.
