Baycourt Community and Arts Centre

Located in the heart of Tauranga Baycourt Community and Arts Centre is Tauranga’s premier performing arts facility. It is extensively used by local, regional, national and international performances and exhibitions.

The architecturally designed venue was opened in 1983 to serve the cultural, social and commercial needs of a rapidly expanding city.

Baycourt has three prominent spaces; Baycourt Centennial Theatre, The Exhibition Space and The Terrace Rooms. The venue is used extensively for theatre shows, exhibitions, conferences, dinners and cocktail functions. Break out areas and bar options are also available.

The venue has different price structures for professional and community groups including subsidies for local youth and not for profit groups.

Baycourt has a 4 Star Qualmark rating and is a member of EVANZ (Entertainment Venues Association of New Zealand).  There is a range of accommodation, restaurant and retail stores in easy walking distance from the venue.

The building has a very interesting history.  Find out more through our history page.

The Mighty Wurlitzer celebrates its 40 years in the venue this year, learn more about the Mighty Wurlitzer history.
