UPDATE – THURSDAY 14 APRIL, 2022: AOTEAROA NEW ZEALAND NOW AT ORANGE
Following the Government’s announcement yesterday, all of Aotearoa New Zealand can now enjoy the orange setting of the COVID-19 Protection Framework / Traffic Light System, effective as of 11.59pm on Wednesday 13 April.
For Baycourt Community & Arts Centre the most significant change brought about by the move to orange is the removal of capacity limits, meaning we can now operate without restrictions on audience numbers.
Orange also means we will reopen the Baycourt bar for service during events.
We continue to strongly encourage everyone visiting Baycourt to wear an approved face mask whilst we’re in the orange setting (except while eating and drinking). All Baycourt staff will wear face masks during your visit.
The move to orange brings us one step closer to the long-awaited re-emergence and recovery of the live events sector. We appreciate that for many in our community, returning to a theatre environment may be a little daunting given the recent lifting of some Covid restrictions. Rest assured that the safety and wellbeing of our audience, clients and customers is our first priority, and we will do our best to keep people safe whilst capitalising on this opportunity to deliver more great shows and events for our community. You can also do your bit to keep our community safe by please staying home if you feel unwell.
For more information about the orange setting and what it means for you, please visit the Unite Against Covid-19 website.
Noho ora mai rā,
Baycourt manager Reena Snook
