Conditions of entry

We look forward to welcoming you to Baycourt Community and Arts Centre!

The purpose of these Conditions of Entry is to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors to Baycourt Community and Arts Centre (Baycourt). We ask that you respect our facilities, staff and fellow patrons to help create an enjoyable environment for everyone.

All visitors must comply with the following conditions and follow the directions of Baycourt staff at all times. We reserve the right to deny entry or remove any person from Baycourt at any time for failing to comply with these conditions.

These conditions are subject to change without notice.

Some shows/events at Baycourt may have additional entry requirements.

Behaviour

Patrons exhibiting unacceptable or disruptive behaviour will be asked to leave the venue. Dangerous activities such as aggressive moshing, stage diving, crowd surfing, rushing the stage and climbing are prohibited and may result in the removal of patrons from the event.

The following items are not permitted to be brought into the venue by any visitor:

  • drugs and alcohol
  • weapons or items deemed dangerous
  • iPads/tablets and laptops, selfie sticks, and Go Pros
  • large bags (e.g. larger than A3 size)
  • glass of any kind
  • opened water/ beverage bottles
  • chewing gum
  • laser pointers
  • vivid markers and pens
  • gang patches or gang paraphernalia
  • professional cameras and other video or audio recording equipment
  • any other items deemed unsafe or disruptive by venue management or the event promoter.

Search on entry

For safety reasons, you and/or your possessions may be subject to a security search upon entry.

Drugs and alcohol

Baycourt complies with the Liquor Licensing Authority and enforces a strict ‘no drugs’ policy.

  • alcohol will not be served to intoxicated or underage patrons
  • intoxicated individuals may be refused entry or asked to leave
  • persons supplying alcohol to underage patrons will result in removal from the venue
  • illicit drugs and alcohol are prohibited and will be confiscated if found.
  • incidents may be referred to NZ Police.
  • smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the premises.

Dress code

Attire must be appropriate for the event and meet reasonable standards of decency.

  • footwear must be worn at all times
  • clothing resembling security uniforms (e.g. high-visibility vests) is not permitted.
  • costumes must not obstruct views or occupy more space than your seat
  • accessories that look like or can be used as weapons are not permitted.

Latecomers

To minimise disruption to audience and performers, latecomers may be subject to a lockout period and will only be admitted during a suitable break in the performance (if any).

CCTV, photographs and video/audio recordings

Baycourt uses security cameras throughout the venue. Your actions may be monitored and recorded.

By attending an event, you consent to being filmed, photographed, or recorded (including livestreaming) by Baycourt or the event promoter. These images or recordings may be used for marketing or publicity purposes without compensation.
