We love welcoming tamariki to Baycourt, especially for family-friendly shows where a bit of noise and excitement is all part of the fun!

Children two years of age and under
Children two years and under are welcome to attend age-appropriate events with their parent or caregiver, however certain events may have age restrictions or guidelines as set by the event promoter.
In some instances, shows will allow a child two years or younger to attend free of charge, but they must be seated on their caregiver’s knee. In other instances, some shows may require children two years and under to be admitted with a paid ticket. Age requirements or guidelines will be stated on the event’s webpage.
Children three years of age and older
Children three years of age or older are welcome to attend age-appropriate events but they must have their own ticket and sit in their own seat.
Pushchairs and strollers
For health and safety reasons, pushchairs and strollers are not permitted inside the auditorium. The Addison Theatre and X Space both have limited space, and keeping aisles and exits clear is essential for emergency access. Strollers can also block sightlines and create trip hazards in a darkened environment. We recommend leaving them in the foyer or designated areas – our staff will be happy to assist.
Booster cushions
We have approximately 19 booster cushions to help your young ones have a better view of the stage. Please ask any of our front of house staff to source one for you.
Bringing tamariki to the theatre
We love welcoming tamariki to Baycourt, especially for family-friendly shows where a bit of noise and excitement is all part of the fun! For performances aimed at adult audiences, we kindly ask that parents/caregivers step out of the auditorium if a child becomes unsettled or disruptive to other audience members. We understand every situation is unique – rest assured our front-of-house team is happy to find a solution that maximises everyone’s comfort.
School groups
We are always excited to have school groups attend Baycourt performances. Our understanding is that supervision of these children is the responsibility of the visiting school. If you would like more information, or our documentation to assist with completing RAMs forms, then please read our Health and Safety Information for school groups (844kb pdf).
